Salaar: Part 1-
Ceasefire is an upcoming Indian Telugu-language epic action thriller film directed by Prashant Neel and produced by Vijay Kragundore. It stars Prabhas and Prithviraj Sukumaran in the lead roles along with Shruti Haasan, Jagapathi Babu, Bobby Simha, Tino Anand, Aishwarya Rao, Sriya Reddy, and Ramchandra Raju in the lead roles.[3] Prabhas reportedly played a double role in the film. The film was announced in December 2020 with the film title Principal photography began in January 2021 near Godavarikhani, Telangana. The music is composed by Ravi Basroor while the cinematography and editing are by Bhavan Gowda and Ujwal Kulkarni.
The Censor Board has certified it as a rated film.[6][7] Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on 22 December 2023.

Development
In mid-August 2020, it was reported that Prabhas and Prashant Neil are to collaborate for the latter's next direction after KGF: Chapter 2 (2022). The former was reportedly inspired by the latter's debut film Ugramm (2014) and wanted to make a film in the genre.[10] Prashant confirmed the collaboration between the two during a media interaction in mid-October. . On December 2, the project was publicly announced by Humble Films, who are financing the project. Touted as an action thriller, the film directed byPrashanth marks the first collaboration between Neil and Prabhas and Neil's first Telugu venture. On his role, Prabhas said: "My character is extremely violent, so it's something I haven't done before."[13] Some reports claimed that the film is a remake of Neil's debut film Ugramm. There is, however, Neal clarified. That Salaar is not a remake but an original story written for Prabhas.
The film was officially launched in Hyderabad on 16 January 2021. Ravi Basaror is composing the music while Bhuvan Gowda is the cinematographer.[16]
Casting
Actress Shruti Haasan was cast in a pivotal role in January 2021. Kannada actor Madhu Guruswamy is all set to play a pivotal role. In March, actress Aishwarya Rao was signed to play Prabhas' character's mother. Later in August, Jagapathi Babu joined the cast, appearing as Raja Munnar.[19]
In October 2021, Malayalam actor Prithviraj Sukumaran was in talks to play an important role in the film.[20] In March 2022, Prabhas said that Prithviraj is part of Salaar during the promotional program of his film Radhe Shyam. [21][22] Later in June, Prithviraj said that he had approved the script but was trying to adjust the dates of the film's work.[23] Later in October 2022, Prithviraj's role was confirmed and the film marks his return to Telugu cinema after 12 years, following his appearance in Police Police (2010).[24] Surya Reddy has also been cast in a pivotal role.
Filming
The shooting of the film began on 29 January 2021 in the coal mines near the city of Godavarikhani, Telangana.[26] The first schedule was completed by February 2021. The second schedule of the film began in Hyderabad in August 2021.[28][
About 30% of the shooting was completed by March 2022. Filming was halted due to the release of Prabhas' Radhe Shyam (2022) and Neil's K.G.F: Chapter 2 (2022) and was planned to resume in May.[30] However, Prabhas returned to Spain in March. I underwent knee surgery while on vacation, which further delayed the shoot. In June 2022, a new schedule began with Prabhas and Haasan joining the sets at Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad. The team also shot a 20-minute long action sequence in the middle of the ocean, costing around Rs 10 crore.[34].

Ceasefire received an A (Adult Only) certification from the Central Board of Film Certification due to intense action sequences and violence. The makers expected a U/A (Parental Guidance) rating, but were unwilling to make the cut, and since the board updated its rules, the makers accepted the Adult rating. [39] The film is scheduled for a theatrical release on December 22, 2023 in standard and IMAX formats. It will be released in Telugu with dubbed versions in Kannada, Hindi, Tamil and Malayalam languages.[40][41][42]Earlier in August 2021, it was announced that the film would be released on April 14, 2022. [43] The film was later postponed due to Neal and Humble's K.G.F.: Chapter 2 being released on that date. [22] In March 2022, producer Vijay Kiragandur stated in an interview with Pink Villa that the film would be released in the second quarter of 2023 (April–June) due to production delays due to the Covid-19 pandemic. ) was postponed until .[30] In August 2022, the release date was announced as September 28, 2023 but was pushed back to December 22, 2023.
Distribution
It will be released by Karnataka-based production house Humble Films.[45] It will be jointly distributed in North America by Moksha Movies and Prathyangira Cinemas.[46] Prithviraj Productions will distribute the film in Kerala. [47] Tamil Nadu distribution rights were acquired by Red Giant Movies.[48] AA Films will distribute the film in North India.[49] The film will be distributed throughout Andhra Pradesh by Sri Sri Sai Cinemas, Lakshmi Narasimha Sri. It will be distributed by Manikantha Films, Geeta Films Distributor, KSN Telefilms, Sri Vengamba Cinemas and Shilpakala Entertainments while Maithri Movie Makers will distribute the film in the Nizam region.Home media
